Interest Rate Parity (IRP)

Interest Rate Parity (IRP) is the principle that the interest rate differential between two currencies should be offset by the expected change in the exchange rate, otherwise riskless arbitrage would be possible. In practice the rate differential prices the swap (rollover) points and drives the carry trade.
