Terms of service · forex-basics.com

These terms set out the rules for using the forex-basics.com portal, the scope of services we provide and the rights and obligations of users and the publisher. By using the portal you accept the provisions below.

§ 1. Definitions

In these terms the following words have the following meaning. The Portal — the website forex-basics.com together with all subpages, forms and content published under that domain. The Publisher — DragonFly · Jarosław Wasiński, owner of the portal and controller of personal data. User — every natural or legal person using the Portal, whether or not they have subscribed to the newsletter, whether or not they visit anonymously. Content — articles, reviews, calculators, graphic and video materials published on the Portal. Comments — user interactions, should such functionality be made available (currently inactive).

§ 2. Scope of services

The Publisher provides the following free services on the Portal, by electronic means: access to educational content about the Forex market, a thematic newsletter (after voluntary subscription), and an "Ask a question" form which lets users submit topic suggestions for the editorial team.

The Publisher does not provide investment services within the meaning of MiFID II, does not provide investment advice, does not manage client funds and does not act as an intermediary in financial transactions. The detailed exclusions are set out on the Investment disclaimer page.

§ 3. Intellectual property

All Content published on the Portal is protected under Polish copyright law (the Act on Copyright and Related Rights of 4 February 1994, as amended) and under applicable international copyright treaties (the Berne Convention, the WIPO Copyright Treaty). The Publisher is the rightful holder of the Content — either as the author or as the assignee of economic copyrights from contributing authors.

The Content of the Portal is made available on the basis of fair personal use (Article 23 of the Polish Copyright Act, equivalent to fair use / fair dealing in other jurisdictions). You may read it, print it for your own use, and quote it in academic or private work, subject to the right of quotation (Article 29 of the Polish Act) — with attribution to the source and the author. Copying substantial portions to other portals or books without the Publisher's consent is not permitted. For permission for broader use (reprint, translation, teaching materials) please write to [email protected].

§ 4. Limitation of liability

The Content of the Portal is for educational and informational purposes only. The Publisher makes every effort to keep it up to date and accurate, but cannot guarantee that every piece of information is fully current at every moment — the Forex market changes quickly and regulators publish new statements regularly.

The Publisher is not liable for the consequences of investment decisions taken by the user on the basis of the Portal's Content. Every investment decision belongs to the user and should be preceded by a consultation with a licensed investment adviser (registered with KNF in Poland or with the equivalent authority in another country).

The Publisher is also not liable for the actions of brokers whose websites are linked to from the Portal — including those that are affiliate links. The broker is a separate legal entity and is fully responsible for its own services.

§ 5. Comments and user interactions

Currently the Portal does not offer a comments feature under articles. If such functionality is added in the future, the following rules will apply: comments are subject to moderation by the Publisher, may be removed without justification in cases of breach of these terms (hate speech, spam, unlawful content, broker advertising), and the user posting a comment grants the Publisher a free licence to display the comment on the Portal.

The interaction option currently available is the "Ask a question" form. Every message is reviewed by the editorial team, but the Publisher does not guarantee that every question will be published as an article — topic selection is at the discretion of the editors.

§ 6. Changes to these terms

The Publisher reserves the right to amend these terms. Any material change (a change in the scope of services, a change in the liability framework, the introduction of fees — although we do not currently charge any) will be announced at least 14 days in advance on the Portal's home page and in the newsletter (for subscribers). Minor technical changes (language fixes, contact-data updates) may be introduced without prior announcement.

§ 7. Final provisions

These terms are governed by Polish law. Any disputes arising from the use of the Portal which cannot be resolved amicably will be heard by the court of competent jurisdiction at the Publisher's registered office. A user who is a consumer retains the rights granted by mandatory consumer-protection legislation, including the option of using the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr for out-of-court dispute resolution.

These terms apply from the date of publication on this page. The date of the latest update is shown at the bottom of this page.
