Ask a question · how it works
Forex-basics.com is a question-and-answer portal. If you did not find what you were looking for here, ask a question and we will publish the answer as a full article. Your anonymity is guaranteed.
Form · send a question
The easiest way is to use the form below. If it does not work for some reason (for example you have JavaScript disabled), send your question by email to [email protected] — the form does exactly the same thing, only it lands directly in the editorial inbox.
How it works step by step
Your question lands in the editorial inbox. On the first business day Jarek (the editor-in-chief) decides whether the topic fits the portal's profile (Forex, brokers, FX taxes, trader psychology)
and whether the answer requires a separate article or can be handled with a link to an existing one.
If it requires a new article, the topic goes onto the backlog. The backlog is public — you can find it in
docs/ARTICLES-BACKLOG.md in the project repository.
Time to publication: 5–10 business days. During that time the topic is built from scratch — research, draft, fact-check, editing, publication. If you provided an email, you will receive a notification with a link to the published article. If you did not — the article still goes live, but we will not send a notification.
Anonymity guarantee
Your first name, last name and email never appear in the published article. The question is reformulated into a general form (for example "Why does a broker apply a wider spread?", not "Why did Tom from London get a wider spread at XTB?") and the answer is addressed to the entire group of readers asking a similar question. If your question contained sensitive data (for example a specific deposit amount, a specific loss), that data is removed from the question before publication.
Which questions qualify
We publish answers to questions about the mechanics of the Forex market (what a pip is, how leverage works, the difference between MT4 and MT5), the selection and operation of brokers (what to look for, how to handle tax, how withdrawals work), regional aspects of FX trading (PIT-38, KNF and FCA regulation, available brokers), technical and fundamental analysis (candle patterns, economic calendar, macro data), and trader psychology (tilt, FOMO, trading journals, managing emotions).
What we will not handle
We do not answer questions like "Should I buy EUR/USD now", "What is the best broker for me" or "Should I invest 50,000 in X". These are advisory questions, not educational ones — they require a licensed adviser, which we are not. In reply we will point you to where to find a licensed adviser in your jurisdiction.
We also do not publish trading signals, we do not trade specific orders "live" and we do not recommend "signal services for 50 USD a month". All of our knowledge is freely available on the portal.
