Monte Carlo simulation

Monte Carlo simulation repeatedly reshuffles the order of a strategy's backtested trades (or resamples them from a distribution) to generate thousands of alternative equity curves. It reveals the distribution of possible outcomes — worst-case drawdowns, risk of ruin and the spread of returns — that a single backtest hides by showing only one historical sequence.
