Walk-forward analysis

Walk-forward analysis is a strategy-testing method where you optimize parameters on one window of historical data, then test them on the next, previously unseen period, rolling both windows forward and repeating. It checks whether a strategy holds up on fresh out-of-sample data rather than being curve-fitted to the past, making it a stricter robustness test than a single backtest.
