A-book

A-book is an execution model in which the broker passes (hedges) client trades through to an external market — a liquidity provider or bank — instead of holding them on its own book. The broker earns mainly from spread and commission rather than client losses, so there is no direct conflict of interest (the opposite of the B-book model).
