Dealing desk
A dealing desk (DD, market-maker model) is a broker that acts as the counterparty to its clients' trades — it internally matches or absorbs positions instead of routing them straight to the interbank market. It offers fixed spreads and liquidity even on small orders, but creates a potential conflict of interest, since a client's gain can be the broker's loss (unlike ECN/STP models).
