Volatility Indicator
A volatility indicator measures how widely price moves over a period, not its direction. The most common example is ATR (Average True Range, default 14 periods); others include Bollinger Bands and standard deviation. Traders use it to set stop-losses, size positions and identify market regimes (calm versus high-volatility).
