Triple swap
Triple swap applies financing for three days under product rules and can be a debit or credit. For many T+2 pairs it occurs on Wednesday's rollover from Friday value date to Monday. Holidays, instrument conventions and provider schedules can change the day and multiplier.
Illustrative example
How does it work in practice?
A hypothetical specification uses swap +1 USD per lot per day, quantity 0.5 lots and rollover multiplier three. The credit is 1.50 USD; the positive rate indicates income rather than a debit.
A case to work through
A credit rather than a debit
Hypothetical tariff: +2 USD/lot/day, 0.4 lots, multiplier 3.
- The amount per charged day is +0.80 USD.
- With multiplier 3, the credit is +2.40 USD.
What follows? Check the sign and current symbol schedule.
Example boundary: The multiplier is assumed; weekdays and holidays depend on product rules.
A useful distinction
Triple swap / Rollover (position renewal)
Rollover carries a date or exposure; triple swap specifies one adjustment’s multiplier.
