Segregated accounts
Segregated accounts are accounts in which a broker holds client money separately from its own assets, so your deposit cannot be mixed with the firm's working capital. In the EU this is required under MiFID II, meaning that if the broker goes insolvent, client funds are in principle not part of its bankruptcy estate. Segregation does not protect you against losses on your own trades.
