Order execution
The filling of an instruction in a transaction at a specified price and quantity. Sending or accepting an order does not prove that its entire quantity has been filled.
Illustrative example
How does it work in practice?
In a hypothetical order history, a buy order requests 1,000 EUR but confirmed fills total only 400 EUR. That is 40% of the requested quantity; check the status of the remaining 600 EUR separately.
A case to work through
Two confirmations
Model: request 1,200 EUR; confirmed fills are 300 and 500 EUR and the remainder is pending.
- Confirmed quantities total 800 EUR.
- The unfilled 400 EUR is not yet exposure from these deals.
What follows? Check both the deals and the remainder’s status.
Example boundary: The fill calculator represents one aggregate fill at one price, not an average of several prices.
Request and fills
Text description of the diagram
- Requested quantity: 1,200 EUR.
- Confirmed deals: 300 + 500 = 800 EUR.
- Remaining quantity: 400 EUR remains unfilled.
A useful distinction
Order execution / Pending order (conditional order)
A pending order is a waiting instruction; execution is its confirmed filling.

What changes if…?
Enter requested and aggregate filled EUR; one price values only the confirmed portion.
One hypothetical EUR/USD fill. Requested quantity is not confirmed execution. The model does not predict whether the remainder will fill or the price of later fills.
Check your understanding
Add confirmed fills without including pending quantity.
