Requote

A new price offered instead of execution at the price requested. MT5 Instant Execution lets the trader accept or reject it; the requote itself is neither an executed trade nor incurred slippage.

Illustrative example

How does it work in practice?

A hypothetical EUR/USD buy request in Instant Execution specifies ask 1.1000; the server offers 1.1003 USD per EUR. Rejecting that offer without a fill creates neither a trade nor an incurred slippage loss.

A case to work through

An accepted offer followed by a fill

MT5 Instant Execution model: planned buy at 1.0850; requote 1.0852 is accepted and fills 5,000 EUR.

  1. The confirmed price differs from the original plan by 0.0002 USD/EUR.
  2. Relative to that plan, the extra expenditure is 1 USD.

What follows? State which reference price is used for the comparison.

Example boundary: A requote without execution produces no incurred slippage.

A useful distinction

Requote / Slippage

Slippage compares an actual fill with a reference; a requote is an earlier price offer.

Check your understanding

Separate a new offer, acceptance and trade confirmation.

A requote is rejected and no trade occurs. What incurred slippage can be calculated for that trade?

Show the answer and explanation

There is no executed trade to calculate

An unfilled offer creates no execution price.
