VPS (Virtual Private Server)

A VPS is a remote computing environment that can run a terminal and trading robot independently of a home computer. Availability, restarts and latency depend on infrastructure and configuration. Server proximity can reduce some delay but guarantees neither a specific fill time nor strategy profitability.

Illustrative example

How does it work in practice?

In a hypothetical setup, a robot runs on a VPS, so shutting down the home laptop does not stop that process. A VPS restart can interrupt it; verify restart success and order status separately.

A case to work through

The server responds, the robot is silent

Model: after a VPS restart, ping is 8 ms but the robot log shows no new activity.

  1. Ping confirms a network response rather than strategy operation.
  2. Check terminal process, robot status, synchronization and confirmed instructions.

What follows? Verify application operation separately from connectivity.

Example boundary: The time is hypothetical; hosting guarantees neither profitability nor uninterrupted operation.

A useful distinction

VPS (Virtual Private Server) / Trailing stop

Trailing stop is an order-update rule; a VPS is an environment that can run it.

Check your understanding

Confirm strategy operation after an environment change.

Does low ping alone prove robot operation?

Show the answer and explanation

No, application status and logs are needed

Connectivity and robot operation are separate matters.
