VPS (Virtual Private Server)

A VPS (virtual private server) is a computer in a data centre that runs a trading terminal (MT4, MT5, cTrader) together with an Expert Advisor. It runs around the clock and — when rented close to the broker's infrastructure (e.g. Equinix LD4 in London) — cuts latency to the matching engine from 30–50 ms down to single milliseconds. It mainly matters for automated systems and scalpers; for swing traders it is convenience, not a better outcome.
