Commodity Currencies
Commodity currencies are currencies of countries whose exports rely heavily on raw materials, so their exchange rates tend to track commodity prices. Classic examples are the Australian dollar (AUD, driven by iron ore and Chinese demand), the New Zealand dollar (NZD, tied to dairy) and the Canadian dollar (CAD, linked to oil). They usually behave as risk-on currencies, strengthening when market sentiment improves.
