Margin (deposit margin)

Margin is the portion of your capital that the broker locks on the account as collateral for a leveraged position. It is not a fee — it is part of your balance set aside and released when the position closes; its size depends on leverage (e.g. at 1:30 it equals about 3.33% of the notional value).
