Inside Bar
An inside bar is a candle whose entire range — from low to high — sits inside the range of the previous candle, known as the mother bar. It signals volatility compression, since price broke neither the prior high nor the prior low, and is traded as a breakout setup: entries are placed just beyond the mother bar's high and low. Its edge is strongest when aligned with the trend or at a major support/resistance zone.
