Economic Data Releases

Economic data releases are scheduled publications of macroeconomic indicators — such as NFP, CPI, GDP, interest-rate decisions and PMI — issued by statistical agencies and central banks at fixed times. When the figure deviates from the market's forecast (a "surprise"), it can move currency prices sharply, which is why traders track them on an economic calendar.
