Weekend gap

A weekend gap is the difference between Friday's closing price and the Sunday/Monday opening price. The Forex market is closed from Friday evening until Sunday, so news over the weekend can't be priced in continuously — the rate "jumps" and opens above or below Friday's close. It matters because stop-loss orders can be filled at a worse price than set (slippage).
