A pennant is a continuation pattern shaped like a small symmetrical triangle that forms after a sharp, near-vertical move called the flagpole. Two converging trendlines tighten the price range and volume dries up during consolidation; a breakout in the flagpole's direction signals trend continuation, with the target measured as the flagpole height projected from the breakout point.
