Bank of Japan (BoJ)

The Bank of Japan (BoJ) is Japan's central bank, responsible for monetary policy and issuing the yen (JPY). It long ran an ultra-loose stance — negative rates and yield curve control (YCC) — so its rate decisions and statements move the yen sharply. It also publishes the quarterly Tankan, a key gauge of Japanese business sentiment.
